The short version: TestMyBuild is a website where people who build apps get their first real testers and honest feedback. TestMyBuild is a product of Heegstra LLC, and these terms are an agreement with Heegstra LLC. You must be 18 or older. Testers sign up to a listed app, use it, and post a screenshot of their signup with their feedback. Each approved post earns 1 credit. Builders spend 10 credits to list an app, and can buy 10 credits for US$9.99 from Stripe, which sells them as merchant of record. Credits are never paid out or refunded as money by us, except where section 6 or the law says otherwise. A person reviews every new account and checks every listing and every post. What you post here is public. Be honest, and we will be too.
1. The agreement
These terms are between you and Heegstra LLC, 30 N Gould St Ste N, Sheridan, WY 82801, USA ("we", "us"). TestMyBuild is a product of Heegstra LLC. It is not a separate company: Heegstra LLC runs it and answers for it. When you buy credits, Stripe sells them to you as merchant of record (section 6).
You agree to these terms when you create your account. The box you tick on the Create your account screen says that you are 18 or older, that you agree to the rules and these terms, and that you have read our Privacy Notice. Submitting an app for review is agreeing to them again for that listing, including the permission in section 7. If you do not agree, do not create an account.
You can read the site without an account. Sections 12, 15 and 16 apply to you then too.
The rules in section 8 are part of these terms. The Privacy Notice and the Cookies page explain what we collect and why.
2. Who can use it
You must be 18 or older. TestMyBuild is not for children, and we close an account when we learn it belongs to someone younger.
One account per person. Do not create accounts for other people, and do not sell or share yours. If you list an app for a company, you confirm that you may act for it, and these terms then bind the company too.
3. What TestMyBuild is, and what it is not
What it is. A list of apps that want testers. A builder lists an app. The team tries it before it goes live and posts the first feedback. Approved testers sign up to the app with their own email, use it, and post one screenshot of their signup with honest feedback. Each approved post earns the tester 1 credit. Credits pay for listings.
What it is not.
- We do not make, sell or vouch for the listed apps, apart from our own (section 9). Each app belongs to its builder and comes with its builder's own terms and privacy policy. When you sign up to a listed app, you deal with its builder, not with us, and the details you give the app go to the builder, not through us.
- We try each app once before we list it. That is not a check that the app is safe, that it will keep working, or that it handles your data well. Use your own judgement.
- We do not promise a builder any number of testers, installs, sign-ups, ratings, sales or results. The guarantee in section 10 is the promise we make, and section 10 says all of it.
- A post is the opinion of the tester who wrote it, not ours. The team's own post on each listing is ours.
4. Your account
Signing in. You sign in with a six-digit code we email you, or with Sign in with Google where the site offers it. There is no password of ours. The code works once, for a short time, and only in the browser where you asked for it. Anyone who can read your email can ask for a code and get into your account, and so can anyone who controls the Google account you sign in with, so keep them secure and give the code to nobody: we never ask you for it. If Google confirms an email address that already has a TestMyBuild account, you are signed in to that account, not given a second one. Tell us at info@testmybuild.app if you think someone else has used your account.
New accounts are reviewed. We review every new account by hand, to make sure testers are people builders can trust. Until yours is approved it is a new account: you can browse, and you can publish a listing with credits, but you cannot post feedback. We email you when it is approved, or tell you why if it is not. An account that is not approved for testing can still publish a listing with credits.
What is public. Your handle is shown next to your posts and on your public page at testmybuild.app/your-handle, from the moment you create your account. Your picture, if you add one, shows there too once your account is approved. Your public page also shows your badges, the date you joined, your live listings and the apps you tested with your approved feedback. Anyone can open it, and search engines can find it. Choose a handle you are happy to see in public. It does not have to be your name, and it cannot be changed once it is set.
Your handle and your picture. Pick a handle that is yours to use: not another person's name, not a brand that is not yours, and not one that makes you look like us. A person looks at your handle and your picture when we review your account. We remove a picture, or close an account, when a handle or a picture breaks these terms.
5. Credits
Earning. An approved post earns 1 credit. A tester can post once per app, so more credits mean testing more apps.
Spending.
- A listing costs 10 credits. When you submit an app, 10 credits go on hold at once, so the same credits cannot pay twice. If the app is listed, the 10 are spent. If it is not listed, 1 is spent for the review and 9 come back to your balance. That is the same in every case.
- Move to top of Newest costs 10 credits. It puts one of your live listings first under Newest, with no new review. Section 11 says how that is shown.
- Every further app you publish costs another 10.
Buying. 10 credits cost US$9.99. Section 6 says how.
What credits are. Credits are a way to use TestMyBuild, nothing more. They have no cash value. They are never paid out as money, cannot be sold, transferred or swapped between accounts, and are not refunded as money except in the cases in section 6. They do not expire.
Your ledger. Every change to your balance shows on your Credits page with its date and its reason, and so do credits on hold.
Changes we make by hand. We may add credits by hand and say why on your ledger, for example to carry over points from our Discord community. We may correct a mistake. We may remove credits that came from abuse: a post that broke the rules, an account that is not who it says it is, or a payment that was reversed. When we remove credits we tell you why, by email and on your ledger.
6. Buying credits, and refunds
Who sells the credits. TestMyBuild is ours, and these terms are with Heegstra LLC. The purchase itself is made with Stripe, which sells you the credits as merchant of record, under the terms shown on its checkout page. The checkout page and your receipt name the Stripe company that sells them. Stripe takes the payment, works out and collects any sales tax or VAT where you live, emails your receipt, and handles refunds and card disputes under its own terms. You enter your card or wallet on Stripe's page, not ours, and we never see your card number. Anything about the credits themselves, and everything in these terms, is us: info@testmybuild.app.
The price. 10 credits for US$9.99, paid once. It is not a subscription, and nothing renews. We set the price in US dollars. The checkout page may show it in your own currency, and it shows the total, with any tax, before you pay. That total is what you pay. We add no fee of our own. A fee your bank charges for a payment in another currency is between you and your bank.
When the credits arrive. They are added as soon as the payment is confirmed, and we email you when they are on your balance. If a payment fails, nothing is charged and no credits are added.
Refunds. We do not refund credits as money, and we do not buy back credits on your balance. A refund of a payment is made by Stripe, as the seller, under the terms on its checkout page.
- A payment that went wrong. If you were charged twice, or charged and the credits never arrived, tell us at info@testmybuild.app and we have that payment refunded.
- Your right to withdraw, if you are a consumer in the EU, the EEA or the UK. The law gives you a right to withdraw from a purchase made online, normally within 14 days, and nothing in these terms shortens it or asks you to give it up. Stripe is the seller you bought from, so you exercise that right with Stripe, in the way and within the time its terms and the law where you live provide, and Stripe refunds you. If Stripe's process leaves you stuck, write to us and we help you make the request.
- Any other right the law where you live gives you that a contract cannot take away. Nothing in these terms limits it.
When a payment is refunded or reversed, we remove the credits it bought from your balance.
Disputes. If you think a charge is wrong, tell us first at info@testmybuild.app. If you dispute a card payment with your bank, Stripe handles the dispute under its own terms.
Sections 13 and 14 say what happens to credits if an account is closed or TestMyBuild stops.
7. Listing an app
Who can list. Any signed-in account with 10 credits. You may list an app you built, or one you have the right to list for its owner. Every listed app must be free or have a free trial, and a tester must be able to try it without paying.
How a listing is made. You paste a link or a domain. Our server fetches the public web page or store page behind it and fills in the app's name, a one-line description, a description and the app's logo from what it finds. You check and edit all of it before you submit. What you submit is your responsibility, including what we filled in for you. The contact email you give is for the team only and is never shown on the listing.
Your permission to us. By submitting an app you give Heegstra LLC permission to show the app's name, logo, description and links on its listing, in the list of apps, on your public page, in link previews of those pages, and in the emails and notifications TestMyBuild sends about the listing. The permission is worldwide and free of charge, and it lasts for as long as the listing is on TestMyBuild. You confirm you have the right to give it. You keep every right you have in your app, its name and its logo.
Review. The team tries every app you submit before it goes live. We list it, or we tell you why not. Common reasons are that the app has no free plan or free trial, that the link does not open or the app cannot be installed, or that it is not an app you built.
Once it is live. A live listing shows "Listed by" with your handle, the team's feedback as its first post, marked "from the team", and approved testers' posts after it. A live listing stays on TestMyBuild. You cannot edit it or take it down yourself, so check everything before you submit. It stays live if you delete your account, shown as listed by "[deleted account]" and without your contact email. If something on a live listing is wrong, write to info@testmybuild.app. We may remove any listing under section 12.
Your app, its stores and their rules. Your app must follow the law and the rules of every store it is in, and it is your job to know whether those rules allow testing through TestMyBuild. We pay nobody per install, and testers choose freely whether to sign up. Do not offer testers anything, money or otherwise, for installing your app or for a rating or a review in an app store or on any review site, and do not make a public review part of testing your app.
Quoting feedback. You may quote the words of an approved post on your listing in your own marketing, credited to a TestMyBuild tester or to the tester's handle. Quote it as written, or shorten it without changing what it says. Say that testers earn 1 credit on TestMyBuild for each approved post. Do not reuse a tester's screenshot or picture, and do not present a quote as a review from an app store.
8. Testing and posting
Who can post. An approved tester, once per app, on any listed app that is not their own.
What a post is. One screenshot of your own signup in the app, and your feedback in your own words. A person checks every post before it appears. A pending or rejected post, with its reason, is shown to you and nobody else. An approved post is public on the listing and on your public page, with your handle, your picture and the date, and the builder gets it by email and as a notification.
You choose what the screenshot shows. A signup screen often shows your name or your email address. Once your post is approved, the screenshot is public. Crop or cover anything you do not want shown before you upload it.
The rules. These are the rules you agree to when you create your account:
- Real use: you actually sign up and try the app.
- Specific feedback: what worked, what did not, what you would change.
- The screenshot shows your signup.
- No rewards for public reviews on the App Store, Play or Trustpilot.
- One post per app. For more credits, test more apps.
And in every post: no one else's personal information, nothing you did not write yourself, and nothing section 12 forbids.
How we decide. We approve or reject a post on whether it follows the rules, never on whether it is positive or negative. Criticism that follows the rules is approved like praise, and no builder decides which posts appear. A rejected post earns no credit, and we tell you why. You can post again on that app once you have fixed the reason.
Your permission to us. You keep your rights in your words and your screenshot. By posting, you give Heegstra LLC a worldwide permission, free of charge, to store your post, to show it once approved on the listing, on your public page and in link previews, to send it to the builder by email and notification, and to let the builder quote its words as section 7 says. The permission lasts for as long as the post is on TestMyBuild.
Testing someone else's app. When you sign up to a listed app you deal with its builder, under the app's own terms and privacy policy. Some apps start their free trial with a card. Cancel before the trial ends if you do not want to pay for the app. We do not charge you anything to test, and we are not responsible for what a listed app charges, does, or does with your data. If a listed app asks for money or details that signing up should not need, or looks like a scam, stop and tell us at info@testmybuild.app. We look at the listing again and take it down if it is.
Taking a post down. Ask us at info@testmybuild.app and we take a post of yours down. When your account is erased, the screenshots of your approved posts are removed, and your posts stay on their listings shown as "[deleted account]", without your handle or picture. Ask us and we remove the words too.
9. Our own app
Daily Captain is made by Heegstra LLC too. It is on the list, listed by jan, under the same rules as every other app and with no special place in any sort, and posts on it are approved on the same rules. It was not submitted for review like other apps, so it has no post from the team.
10. Our guarantee
The site says: "Our guarantee: every app you submit is tested by the team and gets feedback from at least one real person." Heegstra LLC gives that guarantee, and this is what it means:
- A person on the team opens and tries every app you submit before we decide on it.
- If the app is listed, the team's feedback is its first post, marked "from the team". Our tools do not let us list an app without it.
- If the app is not listed, the reason we give you is our feedback, and 9 of your 10 credits come back.
It is not a promise of any number of testers, installs, sign-ups or results, or that feedback will be positive.
11. How the list is ordered
Anyone can sort the list of apps three ways and filter it by platform: Web, iOS or Android.
- Newest, the default: the most recently listed apps first. A builder can pay 10 credits to move one of their live listings to the top of Newest (section 5). Under Newest, a listing that is in its place because it was moved there carries the label "Moved to top".
- Hottest: the most new approved posts in the last 7 days.
- Most tested: the most approved posts of all time.
Nobody can pay to move up under Hottest or Most tested: they follow approved posts only. Moving to the top of Newest is the only paid placement on TestMyBuild, and no app is placed higher because it is ours.
12. Content, reports and takedowns
A person checks first. A person on the team reviews every new account, and checks every listing and every post before it goes public. That is our main protection against abuse.
What is not allowed anywhere on TestMyBuild, in a handle, a picture, a listing, a post or anything else you send:
- anything unlawful;
- hate, harassment or threats;
- sexual content;
- malware, or an app built to deceive or harm the people who use it;
- someone else's personal information, or a picture of someone who has not agreed to it;
- pretending to be someone else;
- spam, or anything that infringes someone else's rights;
- fake accounts, fake posts, or anything else meant to game the credits or the list;
- getting around the review, the credit rules, the limits on sign-in codes or the bot check, getting into anyone else's account, or scraping or automating access to the site.
Reporting something. If you see something on TestMyBuild that should not be there, email info@testmybuild.app with the page address and what is wrong. If you think it is illegal, say why, and which law if you know it. If it concerns you personally, say so, and we treat it as urgent. A person reads every report, and we tell you what we did if you gave us a way to reach you. You can also write to us there if you think we are not doing what the law asks of us to keep TestMyBuild safe. A person answers.
What we can do. We may reject or remove any listing, post or picture, and decline or close any account, if it breaks these terms or the law, or if we believe it harms someone. When we do, we tell the person concerned what we did and why, unless the law or someone's safety stops us.
If you disagree. Reply to our email, or write to info@testmybuild.app within six months, and say why. A person looks at it again and tells you the outcome. You can also go to court (section 16).
13. Closing an account
Our side. We may decline or close an account that breaks these terms or the law, that we are legally required to close, or that belongs to someone under 18. Except where the law or an active attack makes it impossible, we tell you why first and give you a chance to put it right. Credits on an account we close for breaking these terms cannot be used or paid out, except where the law where you live gives you a refund for credits you bought.
Your side. You may stop at any time. On your account page choose Delete account, then Yes, delete. Your account is then scheduled for deletion, and signing in within 30 days restores it. After 30 days it is erased for good: your email address, handle, picture, sign-in records and notifications go, and the credits on it can no longer be used. What stays is in section 7 (live listings), section 8 (approved posts, without your handle, picture or screenshot) and the Privacy Notice. Deleting your account does not turn credits into money.
14. Availability and changes to TestMyBuild
TestMyBuild is new. It may have bugs, it may change, and it may be unavailable at times. We do not promise that it runs without interruption. We may change, add or remove features.
If we ever stop running TestMyBuild, we tell you by email at least 30 days before, so that you can use your credits. Where the law where you live gives you a refund for credits you bought and could not use, you get it.
15. Our content
TestMyBuild's software, design and text, and the TestMyBuild name and logo, belong to Heegstra LLC. You may use the site as it is meant to be used. You may not copy it, resell it, or build a competing list out of it.
16. Disclaimers, liability and the law
As is. TestMyBuild is provided as is and as available. To the fullest extent the law allows, we exclude implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We are not responsible for the listed apps, for what testers and builders write, or for what happens between a tester and a builder.
Liability. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss, for lost profits, or for loss of data.
None of this limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence and for fraud, or your mandatory rights as a consumer where you live. If you are a consumer in the EU, the EEA or the UK, your statutory rights are unaffected by anything in these terms.
Governing law and courts. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, USA, and the courts of Wyoming have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory law of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings in your own local courts. Before going to court, write to us at info@testmybuild.app. Almost everything gets solved that way.
17. Emails and notifications
We email you only what your account and the features you use require: your sign-in codes; that your account was created, approved for testing, or not approved; that a post of yours was approved or not; that a tester left feedback on your app; that we received your app, listed it, or did not list it; that you moved a listing to the top of Newest; that you bought credits; that your credits changed; and the notices these terms promise, such as a change to them. The same events, apart from the sign-in code, also appear under the bell on the site. The emails come from noreply@testmybuild.app, and a reply reaches us at info@testmybuild.app.
These messages are part of the service, so they carry no unsubscribe link. They stop when your account is erased. We send no newsletter and no marketing email, and we put no promotion into these messages. If that ever changes, we will ask you first.
18. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We change the version and the date at the top and note the change in the changelog below. We email you at least 15 days before a change takes effect, except a correction, a change the law requires at once, or a change that only adds something new. If you do not accept a change, you may delete your account before it takes effect.
19. General
If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force. Not enforcing something once does not mean we give up the right to enforce it later. You may not transfer this agreement. We may transfer it to a company that takes on TestMyBuild, on the same terms. These terms, with the rules and the Privacy Notice, are the whole agreement between us about TestMyBuild. If we ever publish them in another language, the English version governs.
Formal legal notices to us go to Heegstra LLC, 30 N Gould St Ste N, Sheridan, WY 82801, USA, or to jan@heegstra.io. Everything else goes to info@testmybuild.app. We write to you at the email address on your account.
TestMyBuild is a product of Heegstra LLC.
Changelog
- 1.1, 8 Oct 2026: Stripe now sells the credits as merchant of record. The short version and sections 1 and 6 say so, and say that Stripe works out and collects any sales tax or VAT, emails your receipt, and handles refunds and card disputes under the terms on its checkout page. A consumer in the EU, the EEA or the UK exercises the right to withdraw from a purchase with Stripe, as the seller; our own rule stays that we never refund credits as money. Section 4 adds Sign in with Google where the site offers it, and says that your handle is public from the start and cannot be changed, and that your picture shows once your account is approved. Section 7 says a live listing cannot be edited. Section 8 says what to do about a listed app that looks like a scam. Section 12 makes reporting easier, adds complaints about our safety duties, and says what we can remove. Section 13 is renamed, because we decline or close accounts and do not suspend them.
- 1.0, 8 Oct 2026: the first version, for the launch of TestMyBuild.
