How TestMyBuild works

Builders list an app here to get their first real testers and honest feedback. The team tries every app before it goes live and posts the first feedback on it. Approved testers sign up to a listed app, use it, and post one screenshot of their signup with their feedback. Each approved post earns the tester the listing's bounty, paid in credits from the listing's pool. A person reviews every new account and checks every listing and every post before it goes public.

Credits

Credits come in two packages, each paid once: 10 credits for US$9.99 and 50 credits for US$39.99. Only an approved account can buy them, and testers also earn them with approved posts. Listing an app costs 10 credits, held when you submit it. If the app is listed, those 10 become its pool. If it is not listed, 1 credit is spent for the review and 9 come back to your balance, the same in every case.

The pool pays the bounty, from 1 to 10 credits, that the builder sets for each approved post. The builder can add credits to the pool at any time, and take back only credits they added that no post has reserved.

Credits have no cash value and never expire. They are never paid out as money, and a refund of a payment is made only in the cases in section 6 of the Terms.

Posting feedback

An approved tester can post once on each listed app that is not their own, while its pool covers the bounty. These are the rules:

  1. Real use: you actually sign up and try the app.
  2. Specific feedback: what worked, what did not, what you would change.
  3. The screenshot shows your signup.
  4. No rewards for public reviews on the App Store, Play or Trustpilot.
  5. One post per app. For more credits, test more apps.

A person checks every post before it appears, and approves or rejects it on the rules, never on whether it is positive or negative. Once your post is approved, it is public on the listing and on your public page, with your screenshot. Crop or cover anything in the screenshot you do not want shown before you upload it.

Some apps start their free trial with a card. Cancel before the trial ends if you do not want to pay for the app. We never charge you anything to test.

Billing and receipts

Stripe sells the credits as merchant of record, so your receipt comes from Stripe by email when you buy. The checkout page shows the name TestMyBuild, and your card statement shows the charge as LINK.COM* TESTMYBUILD. Billing, on your account, lists your purchases with their receipts. Its button Manage billing with Stripe opens Stripe's billing portal for your purchases, where Stripe's terms apply. If a charge looks wrong, or you were charged and the credits never arrived, write to info@testmybuild.app first.

Report something

If you see something on TestMyBuild that should not be there, email info@testmybuild.app with the page address and what is wrong. If you think it is illegal, say why, and which law if you know it. If it concerns you personally, say so, and we treat it as urgent. The same goes for a listed app that asks for money or details it should not need, or looks like a scam. If you disagree with a decision we made about your account, a listing or a post, reply to our email or write to us within six months. A person reads every report. A person answers.

Your data

You can change or remove your picture, change your cookie choice with Cookie settings in the footer, and delete your account yourself: on your account page, choose Delete account, then Yes, delete. Signing in within 30 days restores it; after that it is erased for good. For a copy of your data, a correction, the removal of one thing such as a post, or any other right in the Privacy Notice, write to info@testmybuild.app. We do not charge for it.
