1. Website
- Adaptive CTA (Download for Windows/Mac based on device) – smart.
- Minimal design, nice animations. Feels like a really good product.
- Downloading via the Microsoft Store builds trust.
To improve:
- Show the end state above the fold: what Ilee looks like on my computer once installed. I'd swap Life with Ilee for that.
- Pricing: the Download button is only on Free. Put it on all plans, or outside them.
2. Onboarding
Install was flawless – a cat pops up on my screen. Exactly what you want.
- Add a friendly greeting: "Hey there, this is Ilee, the app you just installed."
- Clicking the cat does nothing. People will click it – I did, multiple times. Send them to sign-in.
- Add Sign in with Apple on macOS if not there yet.
- Google sign-in hangs in the browser, but I do get logged in the page just doesn't auto-close.
3. What I love
- Very well designed UI/UX – minimal site, minimal app, cute cat.
- Clean settings and subscription flows.
- The People feature.
- The chat's "little space to think" works very well.
- Page checking and summaries work.
- Usage is very generous.
4. UX fixes
- Button order: Pause/play is first, but people read left to right. Move it.
- Sparkle button: Loads ~30 sec and sometimes does nothing. I only later realised its text (e.g. "Draft testing notes") is a suggestion based on my screen. Label it: "Suggestion based on this page:".
- Text box jumps when dragging the cat: It flips and grows depending on position. Don't resize while dragging, or pin it top or bottom.
- Subscription wording: Use one word – usage. "99% usage remaining", Pro = X% more usage, Ultra = Y% more.
- Notch mode: Needs a one-line explanation.
- People empty state: Add a manual option + "Ilee remembers people automatically, but you can add them yourself."
- Intrusiveness: Surprisingly non intrusive, at first it felt a bit intrusive but it's very easy to get used to and after 10 minutes it already didn't bother me. It doesn't clutter up the screen.
5. AI agent & computer control
Well designed, but in practice most things I tried didn't run smoothly.
- Generic AI endings ("Would you like help drafting a follow-up…?"). This is pretty standard for any AI model, but from my experience including on ChatGPT etc. it's almost never a useful suggestion. So review if it's not just better to leave it open.
- Asked it to DM everyone who commented on my post – it couldn't scroll my Instagram DMs.
- Explain changes upfront: it opened system settings without saying why. Say: "I'll change X in Chrome and Y in settings so I can access it." Otherwise people freak out.
- Chrome control failed – looks like a remote debugging issue.
- Two screens: ask "This screen or both?"
- Private apps: On WhatsApp Business it said it was "keeping my eyes covered." Just say clearly: "I can't do this – it's private information."
- Long chats: Suggest a new conversation when context fills up, to avoid hallucinations.
6. Would I pay?
Yes. Personally $20/month is fine – I already use Claude, ChatGPT and Wispr Flow so I am used to paying for AI.. But for most people $9.99 is the fairer price.
- $9.99 is only month one; Pro is really $20/month.
- Ultra at $30 is only $10 more with no clear difference – I'd just take Pro. Show the extra usage clearly.
- Keep prices consistent: $9.99 / $19.99 / $29.99 or $10 / $20 / $30.
Bottom line
Beautifully designed, simple and fun – the cat sells it. It's genuinely useful and I'll probably keep using it. Now make the functionality as clear and reliable as the design. And please, make something happen when I click the cat. P.s. it doesn't seem to suck up CPU or RAM so that's a plus point.
