What the builder wants tested

Signup, on-boarding, schedule, custom task, AI guide/help.

Free trial, then a paid plan. Testers never pay to test. If a trial asks for a card, cancel before it ends.

This app is made and run by its builder, not by TestMyBuild. We tried it once before listing it, which is not a check that it is safe, keeps working or handles your data well. Use your own judgement.

How to test this app

  1. Open the app and sign up with your real email. Start the free trial if there is one.
  2. Use it the way you would use it for real, for at least a day.
  3. Come back here. Post a screenshot of your signup and what you honestly think. One post per app, worth the listing's bounty when approved.

1. First impressions – website

  • Desktop: main text and CTAs are below the fold. On phone it's fine.
  • Sticky "7 days free" button on mobile is stuck to the left (reproduce on iPhone). Center it.
  • Mobile nav doesn't render well. Make it collapsible (like TestMyBuild), or just show Log in and collapse the rest.
  • The homepage screenshot is a great call – it shows how you help without text. Get it fully above the fold on desktop.

2. Positioning & copy
Home maintenance is very competitive, so you need to stand out.

  • "Your realistic home cleaning and maintenance plan for today, this week, and this season" – too long, too general. Cut it way down and say what result I get and how.
  • Answer one question: why are you better? It doesn't need to be novel, just clear.
  • "Say what your home needs when it needs it…" sounds like the app will remind me of chores. People don't want that. Frame it around the relief/result.
  • The three tiles (What it's doing / How to do it / Help when you need it) look clickable but aren't.
  • "See how it works" is very basic – it didn't convince me.

3. Signup (what to test)

  • Form, "check your email/spam" screen and resend rate limit all work – flawless.
  • Bug: re-signing up with the same email says "We couldn't create your account." Say the account already exists specifically.
  • Bug: after a password reset it still rejects my (correct) password on my work email (jan@heegstra.io). My Gmail account worked fine.
  • Add "Sign in with Google." so logging in is easier Apple can wait until there's an iOS app.

4. Onboarding (what to test)

  • Log out button top right: move it into the account overlay – people will misclick.
  • Nav is clickable during onboarding but bounces me back. Feels broken – disable it visually.
  • Starting in Settings feels wrong.
  • It feels like a form. The questions are actually fun – they're just presented as work. Phrase them as questions: "What do you want to plan?" instead of "Focus", "How much do you want to take on?" instead of "Scale preferences".
  • "Your Green Nest is ready" is a great line, but that screen feels like I've left the app. Keep it in-app.

5. Product tour & paywall

  • The tour is great at convincing people – put it publicly on your website. It doesn't get people to use the app.
  • Onboard in-app instead: take people to a section, have them do one thing, celebrate it ("You scheduled your first task – nice!", "You're on your way to manage your home maintenance better"). Then ask for payment. Asking for a card before I've done anything = bounce.
  • Bug: going back from checkout leaves the button stuck on "Opening checkout…" until refresh.

6. Dashboard & schedule (what to test)

  • Way too much information. The only thing I noticed was Start today's tasks.
  • "Wipe and disinfect kitchen countertops" appeared – I never added it. If it's a suggestion, say so.
  • Task library is fully filled out and I didn't know where to start. Make the next step obvious.

7. Custom task (what to test)

  • Works and it's simple – changing 20 min to an hour is effortless. Keep it that way.

8. AI guide / help (what to test)

  • I added "Bake pancakes" and the AI suggested a "non-invasive condition review", like a repair job. Not accurate.
  • Biggest opportunity: tell people what they need before they start (no hammer mid-job). A "what you'll need" list per task would be huge.
  • Add YouTube videos to tasks ("How do I clean a couch?").

Bottom line
The features work – fun questions, simple custom tasks, solid signup. Big wins: sharpen why you're better, move the tour to the website, onboard in-app with a small win before the paywall, and make the AI help practical.
