Concept
Great idea. People hate paperwork, especially in Germany because it's endless. Your pitch is spot on.
Website
- Looks nice and shows trust and professionalism, which fits your market. Just know: simpler = more conversions. Think about what you want: conversions vs. building trust.
- Bug: Pricing link stops scrolling down after you've clicked it and scrolled back up.
- Add a favicon and show your logo on the site.
Pricing
- $7.99/mo or $59.99/yr is fair. I'd happily pay that to avoid bureaucracy.
- Add one clear sentence: what do I get when I pay? Good on you for making the benefit list collapsible.
- Show the per-month price on the yearly plan (~$5/mo). Pushes people to go yearly.
App Store
Typed the name and you were at the top. Great ASO, almost nobody has that.
Onboarding & UI
- Onboarding is quick and the language switch works well 👍
- Consider a 4th option like "Just exploring" or "I have another question".
- Profile page: text overlaps the background, can't read my city (see screenshot).
- Do a contrast check, especially on buttons. Very important, also for accessibility.
- Keep the top bar and homepage light. Right now there's too much info and too many tools.
The big one: show me the journey 🚀
It's easy to get lost. I can add documents or click "next step" and suddenly the app doesn't make sense anymore. What's missing: What am I working on and towards?
Ask for the user's goal in onboarding, then show a step-by-step roadmap. E.g. work visa: submit this document → wait for their email → too slow? send a reminder → they replied? swipe to unlock the next step.
How I'd build it:
- Make the journey your homepage. Open the app and immediately see: where am I, what's done, what's next. Tools and documents live inside the steps, not next to them.
- One clear action per step. Fill this in, send that, upload this. Nothing else competing for attention.
- Waiting is a step too. "Waiting on the Ausländerbehörde, usually 2–4 weeks." Then nudge me when it's time to follow up, ideally with a ready-made reminder message. Your notifications are perfect for this.
- Let people jump in halfway. Already have some documents? Tick off those steps and start from where they are.
- Celebrate progress. Unlock animations, a progress bar, "3 of 8 done". Bureaucracy is draining, small wins keep people going.
Think App Store Connect: W-9, paid apps agreement, this, that. A roadmap there would've saved me so much time. This is what turns your app from a toolbox into a guide, and what will make it truly useful.
